Neglect in Nursing Homes is a Serious Problem
The neglect that is seen in nursing homes today is something that is becoming more serious. Much of this comes from the fact that there are increasing numbers of individuals in nursing homes and other elder care facilities today.
However, this does not mean that they cannot be well cared-for. It only means that individuals that are paid to take care of these people have to find new and better ways to do so, because the old ways that they were using may not work well when there is a large influx of individuals.
As the population ages, there will be more and more people in nursing homes, and these people will need individuals to take care of them. Right now, there are often staff shortages in elder care facilities, and these will only get worse in the future, leading to further cases of elder abuse and nursing home neglect.
Since nothing can be done about the rising elderly population, the serious problems of nursing home neglect and elder abuse must be handled in a different way.
